Reservation Agent

About the Department.

The Reservations department handles the entire hotel booking process, to organise the tours. This involves liaising with our sales offices in Japan and Asia, who receive requests for hotel accommodation and tours from travel agents. We handle a variety of scenarios ranging from special requests for VIP clients to resolving complaints.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Reservations Agent within our Hotels Division.

Job Purpose

To book hotel accommodation for our global client base using our in-house systems. As Miki Travel is a B2B wholesaler your main point of contact will be with our hotel suppliers with our internal sales teams who work hard to meet the deadlines from travel agents who request quotations. The role will also involve negotiating rates and conditions with hotels.

Applicants for this role could also be considered for vacancies within our Hotel Operations team where they will deal with reservation amendments and post booking services, such as, arrival times, upgrades, meal requirements, baggage services and complaints.

Main Responsibilities

  • Communicate with hotels and provide worldwide sales team with up to date booking information
  • Negotiate prices and conditions with some hotels as well resolve booking issues and complaints directly with hotels
  • Negotiate compensation or refunds as and when required
  • Load accurate rates and booking details into the in-house system
  • Provide suitable alternatives as and when required
  • Produce accurate documents/reports
  • Process deposits/refunds
  • Prioritise workload according to deadlines

  • Flexibility to adapt to the varying requirements of the role
