Financial Accountant

Miki Travel are looking for individuals who are interested in the Travel and Leisure sector and are motivated to join a large and busy organisation.

Our office in the City of London offers a multicultural environment and employs people with a diverse range of experience.

We bring incoming tourists from Japan to Europe, more recently expanding into incoming tours from South East Asia to Europe, and the provision of wholesale hotel accommodation and related online products.

Job Purpose

We are currently seeking to recruit an Accountant within our Financial Control Department to be based in our London office.

The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Director on both the financial reporting side and the management accounting side for two UK entities in the GM Holdings group.  This will involve interaction with members of the business and the group finance team. 

Main Responsibilities:

Posting and review of month end journals into Microsoft Dynamics AX 365

Preparation and review of selected balance sheet reconciliations

Cost of Sales Margin adjustment accrual

Review P&L postings to ensure correct allocation of department codes

Update lead schedules pack monthly

Loading headcount and monthly results into Cognos TM1 and reconciling to AX 365.

Review of P&L for each department, investigate variances against budget and provide commentary to FD

Completion of Month-end reporting pack and submissions to Global finance team

Quarterly analysis of realised and unrealised forex by category (trading/non-trading)

Responding to queries from Global Finance team

Be first point of contact with Auditors

Be responsible for delivery of all Audit deliverables for annual audits and quarterly reviews

Respond to Tax Advisors queries relating to annual tax returns

Uploading budgets/packs on Cognos TM1

Assistance with the Preparation of a Group Accounting Manual

Electronic Payment Approvals

Provide support for ABTA return collation and for Insurance information collation

Quarterly Management pack to Bank

Supervision and review of UK and German VAT returns

Update exchange rate tables in Cognos Controller

Manage communication with department managers re budgets
